James Read Self Tan Range

To say that James Read has carved himself a niche in the self tan market is an understatement. This is the man that people literally flock to to have their tans applied, from major, major celebs, beauty editors and well, people like you and me. And while you’d think there is only so expert anyone can be in the field of applying tan, there probably isn’t a self tan in the world that James hasn’t tried and tested.

To be honest, I did have a bit of a yawn when I heard yet another tan range was emerging, but there is something special about the James Read range and one product in particular.

The James Read BB Gradual Tan for Face is just a little piece of self-tanning genius. It isn’t a BB, I realise that, but it’s certainly got some skin care credentials worth taking note of, in particular, a healthy dose of hyularonic and Co-enzyme Q10, which skin absolutely loves. But the thing that has really impressed me – and once you see it you wonder why nobody thought of it before – is that the tube has an integral brush so you never need to be that orange-palmed girl again. You simply click the base (on the same principle as Touche Eclat) and the tan appears through the brush allowing you to apply it gently and with precision… and no tell-tale Cuprinol fingers.

It’s launching any day now at Harvey Nichols, and there is a try-me kit on QVC UK for £16.63.

  1. This looks amazing! I need to get it, I’ll be stalking QVC on the launch 🙂

So how does the chemical count look on this? I’m quite fair-skinned so I typically lean on the creams, lotions and potions rather than sun or bed tanning, but now I’m reading all these articles about how the sunless tanners are dangerous too! For heaven’s sake, what’s it gonna take for me to get some PIGMENT?!

To the Student in Ca., – read Jane’s article on UTan. That might be an alternative if you’re concerned about chemicals. http://www.britishbeautyblogger.com/2012/05/utan-you-genius.html
