Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] After watching an on-line chat between Genevieve and make up artist (and friend) Caroline Barnes, I wanted to try something that Caroline recommended – Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel. Used on the waterline, it has a reputation for being one of the long stayers and an alternative to kohl.

The gel itself is ultra, ultra black – quite unnerving actually to use such a densely pigmented shade in such a hard-to-get-right area! It’s loose though, not waxy feeling, and believe me, a little goes a very long way. I don’t have the ideal brush for it but I used an old Marc Jacobs brush and it worked quite well.

At the same time, I tried the Revlon Colorstay Creme Eyeshadow in Caramel which is the easiest swipe and go shadow I’ve come across in a while.

It comes with its own brush which probably isn’t necessary but perhaps handy if you’re out and about and need to top up. It’s a very soft texture – I don’t have very oily lids but if I did, I’d use a primer before applying. In terms of stay, I find it pretty good – it dries on the lid and doesn’t stay soft. When I touch it with a finger on my lid, nothing comes away.

Here they both are. Caramel has a metallic element to it but it’s not ‘frosty’. I like it on me and I like it with the liner.

Wow, that IS black!!! I have very dark eyes and am darker-dark skinned so many black liners just look muddy on me. THIS would not! It’s been years since I used a gel pot liner though, probably since the Bobbi Brown ones were a bit of a craze… usually am a fine pen liner for my signature cat eye flick. Don’t even think I have a liner brush anymore… hmm. But it’s sooo black, I’m tempted! (Also that combo of liner and shadow is stunning on you x)

I’ve been using the two lightest Colorstay pots as an eyeshadow base for a while now. Prefer them to actual primers. Love the depth to that black. Looks fab.

That’s a good idea – I can see them working really well for that.
