Holiday Beauty

On holiday I couldn’t resist a sneak peek into how my friends beat the 100ml rule and what products they take along. My little freezer bag had Kate Stone Mascara, Armani Gloss, Institut Esthederm Sun Care (decanted), Dior BB, Lanolips, Optrex and toothpaste – everything else was sticks or powder.

Sue’s bag contained Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour, Dove Shower Cream, Chanel No5 fragrance, Dove Body Moisturiser, Clinique face moisturiser, Decleor, Bourjois gloss, L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique BB and I have no clue what that tiny little tube is!

Carolyn

I have no idea how Carolyn stuffed all this into a tiny bag (in fact, as it turns out, she had a bigger bag than everyone else and totally got away with it! Innocent face…), but in there is Clinique CC, Sisley Sun Stick, YuBe Lip Balm, Soltan for Face, Elemis Tranquil Body Wash, Eve Lom Cleanser, eau de Cologne (4711) and assorted decanted aftersun and body sun screen.

Sarah had the product that was the hit of the holiday – the Caudalie Divine Oil – everyone was using on their skin and hair. Alongside that is Elemis Flash Balm, Temple Spa Toner, Lip Balm and Moisturiser, Garnier Eye Miracle and Novexpert Caramel Cream (tinted moisturiser).

Sandra gets the posh freezer bag award! She has Chanel UV Essential SPF50, Lancome Visionnaire, Clarins face mask, Chanel Sublimage Moisturiser, Estee Lauder Day Wear Tinted Moisturiser and Tresemme Shampoo.

I’m not sure how Wendy and Elaine’s bags escaped scrutiny (I know there was some Lancaster Tan Prolonger somewhere!), but it’s interesting that between us we took such a variety of beauty products! We shared on aftersun, shower gel, deod0rant and shampoo, etc, bought at the airport and just left at the house.

What are your holiday essentials?

all you ladies made some great choices – I normally pack an oldie but still a goodie Elizabeth 8 Hour cream, decanted shampoo and conditioner of whatever I am currently using. Various beauty samples and sachets specially collected for trips away

  3. you guys really know how to pack!

I love having a look through other women’s beauty bags. So much more interesting than my own I think. I collect samples and trial sizes which come in handy for travel. Depending where your going, there isn’t much you can’t buy at your destination. And I’m pleased to see prices are becoming more consistent world-wide, again depending on the brand your destination.

    Love this post 🙂

  6. I loved this post. I recognized 1 Muji container that I use for my Tresemme conditioner. When I go away, I take my kerastase shampoo sample, and samples of (eye/day/night) cream and mask I’ve accumulated over the years. Usally Korres, Clarins, Dior or Ren Estee Lauder ones. Make-up wise, one lipstick and one or 2 eye pens. I was surprised to see so many of you had lip balm. I only need mine in deep winter. I’m assuming you all also have dozens of samples in the bathroom/bedroom? I have so many of them I’m now using them when at home as some of them are reaching old age. An idea for a post/video: how long can you keep samples for? Same for make-up. Not what it says on the box/tube, but the real truth…

  7. Brilliant post. Is the un identified little tube an Elizabeth Arden prevage eye. I use all my samples when travelling. They’re essential!
