Herbal Essences Naked Cleansing Conditioner Co-Wash

So… another co-wash product appears! Herbal Essences Naked Cleansing Conditioner was flagged up to me by a BBB reader (thank you!) so I had a little look for myself at the new Naked range that’s launched in the US. Within the Herbal Essences Naked range are three products; shampoo, conditioner and the above Cleansing Conditioner. The USP of the Naked range is that it’s free from heavy residue, parabens and dyes (although so are a lot of hair products) and that it helps to make your hair soft. It’s got a minty scent, apparently, and helps return moisture to parched locks. It’s priced in the US at $6.99 so looks like being the most budget-buy co-wash yet.

This was also flagged up by BBB readers (thank you again!) and it’s been available for quite some time. It’s a cleansing balm, no foam, sulfate free and is specified for coloured hair. However, it did get an InStyle Hall of Fame award, so I’m not going to argue with that. If you’re interested to try, it’s HERE for £16.60.

  1. Intriguing – is this trend really just a “2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner” with a fancy new name?.. or something else altogheter?

No, it’s like a cream cleanser as opposed to a face wash, but for your face if that makes sense. No foaming, it’s like washing your hair with conditioner.

Got excited then for the herbal essences one.. and then low and behold, it’s another US product that we can’t get. Not paying to import shampoo, it’ll cost a fortune!

I bought this the other day based in part on the proclamation that’s it’s very natural and doesn’t contain parabens and sulfates – only to do some research at home and find that it does contain silicones. So… not that “naked” after all, really, because it’s still bad for my hair. I have curly hair that I rarely have to do much with anyway, so I’ll still find a way to make this work, but I do feel misled.
