[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] If you’re a matte fan then the Haus Labs Le Monster Matte Lip Crayons are an absolute treat. I’d even go as far as to say that they’re the best mattes, in terms of ease of use, coverage and staying power, that I’ve ever used. I’m not a fan of mattes for myself but if I was going to be converted, it would be these that did the job.
I love the design – they look like real pens – which is super sleek and, importantly, easily identifiable in the mountain of make up crayons I have.
There are 16 shades covering off everything from the mildest neutral to the brightest possible pink – the two shades I have here are Mocha Matte and Scarlet Matte. The formula contains mango seed oil and peptides and I promise the sensation of them on the lips is so light that you forget its there.
Obviously, this is Scarlet Matte. I outlined my lips with the pen first before filling in the rest of the lip – application could not be simpler. This is a bleary Monday morning picture but I wore this shade over the weekend and it lasted extremely well. With any matte, the food you eat while wearing it has an impact on how long it will stay on your lips. Go for a well dressed salad and the oil will wipe the smile off your face but if you stick to things that aren’t oily, you’ll find the last goes on for far, far longer.
And this is Mocha Matte. I didn’t think I’d like it as much as Scarlet Matte but I do! It’s a great colour. As luck would have it, Sephora has these on offer for a very reasonable £16 instead of £23 HERE. Also, my new polo shirt from H&M is turning out to be the best buy of the summer – it’s also available in white, red and grey (I’ve got white in my basket, and am considering red) and is so versatile. I’ll wear it as I am today with wide leg black palazzos, under a waistcoat, under a jacket, under a jumper or sweatshirt in winter to get the collar aspect and with everything from jeans to shorts. I like the arm coverage and the softness of the material and the price – £9.99 HERE. I’m wearing size L.
