Guerlain has got this fragranced fabric thing totally in the bag. Never mind the scent, the idea of fragrancing your cashmere is something that seems so decadent and luxurious that I’m 100% in! We might have to gloss over the fact that my wardrobe isn’t exactly bulging with cashmere, but fragrancing your rayon just doesn’t have the same ring!
Guerlain kicked off the whole linen scenting with fine fragrance in the mid 2000’s with Eau de Lit – designed for bedding; a few drops on your pillow at night, apparently, brings a whole new meaning to dreamy!
This was followed by Eau de Lingerie for scented smalls. While these are clearly the absolute upscale end of fabric fragrancing, it’s not so different from what we do every time we use fabric conditioner.. there’s almost always a fragrance to those – and, come to think of it, washing powders.
Eau de Cashmere launches into Selfridges (it’s already available in France) for £62 on 1st September. Guerlain Eau de Cashmere is one of those unnecessaries that is pure indulgence – but I so want to indulge! As far as the fragrance goes, it’s woody, musky and floral.
