Guerlain Baby Glow

Easily my most favourite product from the Spring 2015 line-up is Guerlain Baby Glow, a kind of awakening, enlivening BB cream with SPF25. In the same way that Meteorites do that ‘brightening’ thing to your skin, so does Baby Glow – I guess you could say that it’s liquid Meteorite.

The shade I’ve swatched here is Medium which is perfect for my skin right now – I’d need to go darker I think in summer. Guerlain Baby Glow has all the same technology as Meteorites in terms of brightening and radiance but it also colour adjusts with a pink bias (very, very subtly) so that your skin looks more awake. Even if you are sallow toned, like me, it will still have the brightening effect. There is a definite difference to my skin appearance in terms of liveliness on the side that I’ve tested Guerlain Baby Glow on. The finish is light, but not so light you get no coverage.

What you can’t see is that Guerlain Baby Glow is comprised of red, green, blue and gold pearlescent pigments (in this light I am not detecting any shimmer at all) which all add up to a light catcher product. It feels moist (but I wouldn’t say it gives a dewy finish exactly, but not quite matte either) thanks to glycerine; a fairly basic but reliable hydrating ingredient.

At the same time as seeing Baby Glow, I also took a look at one of the new Ecrin 4 Couleurs in Les Precieux; all deep green and soft brown – this is something I could wear straight away and all through the year, too.

There’s also a blue toned palette but – meh. Very cool palettes are hard to wear. Les Precieux is £41.

Peach Satin is the new limited edition colour in the KissKiss formula – a beautiful lipstick formula that’s packed with pigment and glides onto the lip.

I’m not sure if this ventures into ‘grandma’ territory – and I only say that because it reminds me of a colour my granny used to wear, but in terms of bringing spring to your face, it’s all boxes ticked, although it lies on the paler side of coral. It’s £26.50 which is at the very top end of what I’d pay for a lipstick.

To finish off, Guerlain Baby Glow is £35.50 and the Guerlain Spring Collection launches on 16th January although it has already launched in the US.

I’m waiting for a sample of the beautiful Meteorites Perles de Blush in Angelic Radiance. I could certainly do with some of that!

I shall wait for your review on the Meteorites compact! ♥
I have to get Baby Glow soon! 🙂

  2. I love the idea of this but i’m thinking £35.50 on a BB cream? Not sure I could afford to be wearing everyday, but I suppose if I was rich I would 🙂

Jane, how would you say the Baby Glow compares to their Teint Jolie? I know that one is a foundation and one is a BB, but as a user of both types of product depending on the condition of my skin, I am wondering how you would compare the two?
    Thanks!

Tient Jolie (which I LOVE) is much warmer.. Baby Glow has pink notes in it that ‘balance’ the complexion, whereas Jolie Tint warms it up x

I want the meteorite baby glow in all shades. Do you know when Escentual or feel unique will have it?

  5. Hi, brilliant review on the new range. Can you let me know what Mac shade you would be yourself? I am a NC30 and wondering if the medium of light would be good for me! Thanks so much.

It’s so hard to say.. I don’t use MAC foundation so I can’t say what colour I am unfortunately but I’m olive skinned..so pale in winter and tan in summer.. x

  6. Thanks for your quick reply, its still helpful though. I’ll try the Medium shade.
