Givenchy Spring 2016 Ombre Couture

When I wrote earlier in the week about Givenchy Spring Beauty for 2016, I mentioned both a powdery blue Ombre Couture and a yellow Ombre Couture but didn’t have them here to show you. I love the creamy Ombre Coutures and have several of them, mainly in neutral shades and a beautiful black shade, too. So, I’ve got my hands on one of the spring Ombre Coutures; Bleu Celeste.

This is a shade that’s popping up in a lot of the spring collections – different nuances maybe but same blue. Because beauty and fashion run very closely together when it comes to colour workings, you can expect to see this shade in all your favourite fashion stores as well. Blue handbags – going to be a thing! The problem with it is, is that it’s very editorial – you can picture all the amazing things a make up artist can do with this on a model but I’m not sure that me, in my kitchen, in front of my mirror, will be able to make it work. I don’t think I know what to do with it. Various suggestions from Persicope include under the lower lash line for a ‘stark’ eye look which is a beautiful look, or with a very black liner, a la the 1960s.

Either way, blue and yellow make up – start pondering this now so it won’t be quite so insurmountable in February!

  1. Personally I’d try and blend a dab into the centre or inner corner of the eyelid and team with a taupe on the outer corner/crease, so its just like a matte highlight shade.

  2. You’re right it would look very 60’s. I’d love to give it a go and see how it’d work but you’d have to take your time with it I think! Thanks for sharing lovely 🙂

60s!!!!! Think it would look absolutely amazing on the lid with a very dark, matte cut crease, matte white highlighter on inner corners and huge lashes. Can’t wait to get my hands on it! Thanks Jane!!
