The first parts of Givenchy Beauty Spring 2016 are starting to appear and it’s one of the most exciting spring ranges I’ve seen so far. It’s intricate, definitely tapping into the spring mood and despite having a couple of challenging colours, has a vibrancy to it that just feels very spring like. Starting with the star piece above, Poudre Lumiere Originelle (£41.50), it’s one of those make up items that you will struggle to ruin with a brush stroke! It’s so pretty, but if you can bear to, it’s a radiance-making powder (talc free) that can be used over the entire face to give it a ‘lift’ in terms of finish. These light-catchy products are almost imperceptible on the skin and I think you have to be a real skin finish fanatic to get anything from them. I should also add that the palette has pink tones to it that my camera isn’t able to catch.
As always, a prism blush; this time a fusion of pinks and corals. In my information pack, this is described as ‘a bouquet of roses’ and I certainly see what they mean. Yes, I want flowers in these colours! Le Prisme Blush in Lune Rosee (£32) joins the permanent line up of blushes for Givenchy.
Givenchy Beauty Spring 2016Givenchy is launching both a brown Liner Couture and a grey Phenomen’Eyes mascara – no matter what the colour, I’m personally not on safe ground with these liners and have never got the hang of application in any way that doesn’t look all things wrong. Personally, I’d pass on this, but only through incompetence! Grey mascara though – yes!
To come are two limited edition Ombre Couture shades that are the ‘challenges’ I spoke about earlier. I’m hoping to see them in real life this week, so I’ll come back on it if that’s the case. The first one is Jaune Aurora and it’s literally bright yellow and the second is Bleu Celeste, a baby blue. You’re supposed to wear them together, but I got nervous at yellow nail varnish – I have no idea how to make yellow on the eyes work, but where there’s a will, there’s a way!
The Givenchy Beauty Spring 2016 collection launches in January 2016.
