Gift Sets: Oribe Gold Lust Collection Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Everyone knows that shampoo and conditioner don’t have to cost a fortune. I’ll be straight to the point on the beautiful Oribe gift sets – they actually do cost rather a lot of money. There’s a difference, I think, between expensive hair care and luxury hair care – the two aren’t always hand in hand but with Oribe, I always feel and see a difference in quality that’s reflected in my how my hair looks and behaves. I get it sent to me occasionally, but trust me, I eke it out like it’s the last shampoo on earth. I’ve recently been trying lots of different silver hair shampoos and the stand out has been Oribe’s version (heading for a revamp so I won’t give it too much of a mention as its not readily available at the moment). By stand out hair care, I mean the softness of finish, the rinsability (sorry but I am in a temper if I have to spend ages rinsing something out), the squeak of the clean and the way hair just falls into place under the hair dryer.

For all these reasons, I’d recommend the Oribe Gold Lust Collection with beautiful packaging designed by Kenyan photographer and artist, Thandiwe Muriu. Inside you’ll find Gold Lust Repair & Restore Shampoo (Standard, 250ml), Gold Lust Repair & Restore Conditioner (Standard, 200ml) and Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil (Travel, 50ml) – Gold Lust is my favourite of all Oribe collections.

The contents have a value of £149 and the set costs £113 HERE. If I can take any more of the sting out, SpaceNK has an offer for a £70 spend on Oribe which is a Gold Lust Revival Kit for free. Honestly, these guilt-free gifts-to-self are a motivator but I’m shallow and I don’t mind admitting it. One for them, one for me – what is not to like about that deal?

A quick mention of Oribe’s body care collection – the Cote d’Azure Body & Fragrance Collection. This is sumptuousness indeed – the scent is every great holiday you wish you’d had (the anticipation of holiday smells kind of like this before the ear-infections, mozzie bites and sun burn sets in). It’s citrussy floral but tropical at the same time – the sea is not far away and the sun is present. The box has a value of £221 with the Côte d’Azur Replenishing Body Wash (Standard, 300 mL), Côte d’Azur Restorative Body Crème (Standard, 200 mL and the Côte d’Azur eau de parfum (Standard, 75 mL). Liberty has the set is for £172.80 HERE (value £221).

Oribe products look and feel like the treats they are – not my job to sell them to you but if you are buying for a hair obsessive, you can’t go too far wrong.

I adore Oribe Gold Lush. Because my hair is pixie cut short I use so little and it lasts me many months. The Gold Lush set, okay I admit I do wait until SpaceNK after Christmas sale and jump on the set at a greatly reduced price. But I have over the years indulged and bought individually when offers are on.

Good to know – I always feel a bit guilty about featuring these high price point products but the product is just so lovely!
