Frozen Beauty Book Giveaway

So, some of you know that most of October was taken up with writing a book for Selfridges. It’s now finally published as a nice, fat, glossy coffee-table type book with 192 pages that’s part brochure, part book. Frozen Beauty showcases Selfridges’ beauty offerings; the photography is stunning with Christmas products shot in ice for a frosted, architectural take on all things beautiful. There are divine illustrations (don’t worry – it wasn’t me and my crayons!), celebrity quotes and a potted history of each brand that took part. So, it’s a chance to see products as you’ve never seen them before, bone up on where it all began for favourites such as Clarins, Frederic Fekkai and YSL and find inspirational quotes about beauty.

The book isn’t for sale, in fact, there are only 1,000 of them in the world. Other than get your hands on the copy I have here, the only other way to do it is to be a big beauty hall spender (£500+), in which case, while stocks last you’ll get one for free as a gift.

Otherwise, you can enter this giveaway by telling me who you’d like to make a snowman with and why. You can send your entry to me at britishbeautyblogger@gmail.com or leave it in the comments section. This giveaway finishes on Monday 19th December. We’ll try to get it to you by Christmas but can’t promise. Entries on this occasion are UK only. As ever, it isn’t me who chooses the favourite story – it will be a Selfridges representative.

I totally want to make a snowman with Tom Hardy.

Because he is unbelievably sexy. Then when we’re making the snowman we’d get all wet and have to head off indoors to strip off our wet clothes… shall I shut up now?

  2. I would love to make a snowman with my 3 children because they love the snow and it’s the best thing ever watching your children have fun. 🙂

I’d love to build a snow man with Russell Kane, he’s my favourite celebrity/comedian. I saw him at the Apollo and filming his new pilot for the BBC, and despite bbc staff telling me i couldn’t see him for a photo, he told them ‘let me just have a moment with her’ which I thought was SO lovley. He’s incredible, he comes from a hard backgrou and appreciates everything he has, and he always makes me laugh and smile 🙂 I’m doing a blogpost soon about the experience =].
Btw this book is BEAUTIFUL would love love love to win it!

  4. I’d love to make a snowman with Tom Ford. I’d do the snow rolling and he could work his magic on some clothes for him. That would be without a doubt the most stylish snowman in the world.

I would love to make a snowman with Karl Lagerfeld, or Uncle Karl as I affectionately call him. Why? Because his latest pre-fall collection would make for one exotic snowman. Our snowman would look like a raj from British India, draped in the finest of silks and precious stones. Our snowman would be like me, exotic but happy to live in the cold….

I would make a snowman with Karl Lagerfeld, or Uncle Karl as I affectionately call him. Why? Because our snowman would be dressed in his pre-fall 2012 collection for Chanel. Our snowman would be an exotic creation draped in fine silks and precious stones, a snowman that looked like he was a Raj from British India. Our snowman would be just like me, exotic and colourful yet happy to play in the white, powdery snow…

  7. I would like to make a snowman with Noel Fielding. It probably would end up being some sort of abstract snow monster, but I still think it would be a lot of fun. He’s one of my favourite comedians, and I’ve been enjoying following his career, from the Boosh to Never mind the Buzzcocks.

I would love to make a snowman with my sister. She died six years ago in her early forties from cancer
We were best friends, she always wanted the best for me
Still miss her everyday but have lovely memories

  9. I’d love to make a snowman with my six-year-old son. He is autistic and behind his peers in terms of his motor skills, so activities like this, even when they are as fun as playing in the snow, are a bit tricky. He is making progress though, so if there is snow this winter, we will definitely have a go.

  10. I’d love to make a snowman with Vivienne Westwood because she’d create the craziest snowman ever seen. After a few hours of ‘snowmanning’ out in the snow, a pair of crazy VW heels, some flashes of tartan and some peeled carrot for some trademark Vivienne hair, our snowman would probably look far from a traditional snowman but that’s what I love about Vivienne Westwood. You always know that if she’s involved, you’ll end up with something mental and absolutely fantastic at the end! I bet she’d be hilarious too, so all the laughter would keep us warm in the chilly snow!

I would like to make a snowman with Alan Carr as he will probably make a pony out of it instead of a snowman!

  13. Wow what an amazing looking / sounding beauty tome. I would like to make a snowman with you please BBB so I can pick your brain about all your insider knowledge on the Beauty Industry!

  14. I’d make a snowman with Anthony Bourdain because he oozes coolness, has been everywhere and tasted everything…I’d love to pick his brain!
    The book looks amazing!!

  15. I’d love to make a snow man with my mum again, with myself as a little girl, we used to put marigolds over our gloves to stop them getting wet and because our house was always haphazard we never had carrots so it was whatever veg we had in that became the nose, parsnips normally, I remember finding one in our garden about a month later and trying to work out why it was there for ages. The snowman would be draped in silk scarves and have slices of tomato as red lipstick, my mum was incredibly stylish when younger and studied fashion and owned her own little boutique. I’d love to be able to go through this book with her, she has dementia, and some days are very hard but she always wears red lipstick still, I know this would remind her of all the brands she loves and why she so loved make up in the first place.
Thank you for letting me share this,
    Olivia
