Friday Treat : May I PerSuede You…?

[unpaid/affiliate/purchase] Unlike the fash pack, I’m really quite a fan of synthetic animal fabrics – there are a few key pieces using softer than soft material that looks identical to suede and or leather but isn’t. I’ve just bought myself a beautiful ‘suedette’ shirt from M&S (sold out on-line and I had to get the very last one off the mannequin in my local branch but I’ll leave the link just in case they restock HERE…if they do, size down). I think suede is slowly but surely sliding into spring and summer looks and I absolutely love it. I did a little try on (on the way to yoga so that explains the odd underneath clothes!) for you to see – please don’t judge, there’s a reason I’m a beauty blogger, not a fashion blogger! I can only repeat that I never feel more awkward than when I’m showing you clothes actually on my body.

This suedette biker is a HARD recommend – it’s stunning. I loved the loose fit (I’m in a 12 and I’d say it does come up a little big) and the way the softness of the fabric drapes and moves with my body. It’s probably the most comfortable jacket I’ve ever had on my back. Wear it with jeans (obvs), joggers, white sleeveless t-shirts or your very best black trousers. It’s £69 of utter goodness HERE. I see it’s selling out quickly as well – if you’re normally a 12, 10 is ok. Also, do check your local store if there aren’t any left on line.

This is the other jacket that caught my eye – it comes in black but this shade is called Sable and while I wouldn’t naturally pick it out, I am so impressed at how stepping out of my colour comfort zone has completely reshaped what my vision to a wearable style for right now. It’s an absolute winner and has every single size from 6 to 24 in stock HERE. It’s £49.50.

Summer shirts as jackets is a thing if you don’t want to buy a(nother) jacket – I bought this cheeseclothy-crinkle cotton style shirt in white last year from H&M and more or less lived in it so now I have the khaki and the black as well. I’m sure I don’t need to say that it goes with absolutely everything, doesn’t crease, looks cool and works well for travel. You know how you immediately feel the need to get changed when you’re get off the plane in a hot country? Well, a t-shirt underneath with jeans or loose linens and you won’t. You’ll be able to lean into your Aperol immediately. They’re available in beige, white, black and khaki and they’re £22.99 each in XS to XL HERE. They’re not suede – clearly – but they are texture and that’s what sets them apart.

Here’s the white in action! There was a rumour that cow print is making an entrance – it absolutely won’t be for me. I love a bit of the old leopard print but cow is no. I hope that M&S will restock but even if they don’t, other brands with faster turnarounds will be able to emulate the look for both the oversize biker (so tempted, might go back to the store).

If you do prefer the real thing for shirts, I’d say that this White Company suede shirt has nailed the look – so elegant and simple and will double as jacket… does that make it a bargain? You decide! It’s £298 in S, M and L HERE.
