Friday Treat EXTRA! Dolce Gabanna Panettone Tins

[unpaid/affiliate] I know, from bitter experience, that the coveted Dolce Gabanna Panettone tins, with their vibrant patterns and delicious cakes, sell out very quickly indeed. These have served as perfect Christmas presents for friends and family in the past couple of years – I gave one each to my sisters/brothers-in-law last year and to the children’s godparents the year before and while I was busy giving them away, I also requested on for myself as a present from my brother. I keep all my vitamins and supplements in the tin now :-).  This size (and there are some smaller ones) costs £55 so it’s the same price for all the tins I’m showing.

Much as I don’t want to influence you, the tin above contains a chocolate chip panettone and it’s beyond delicious. Next level fluffiness and choccy chippiness. There’s a little bit more to them than just an, albeit lovely, expensive tin! The panettones are made by the Fisasconaro family in Sicily whose origins saw Mario Fiasconaro opening an ice cream parlour in 1953. By the 1990s, brothers Fausto and Nicola had stepped on board and between them, they created a Sicilian version of the traditional panettone. Now, the Fiasconaro brand is one of haute patisserie and the best selling Panettone brand on Amazon across the USA and UK.

If a rectangular tin is more your vibe (biscuit tin anyone?) this pink version houses a pistachio panettone topped with white chocolate and pistachios.  You also get a little jar of pistachio spread. It’s HERE.

This one comes with Sicilian candied citrus and saffron. Did I mention that these are huge but any left-overs can be made into one heck of a delicious bread and butter pudding. It’s HERE.

Another rectangular tin and this has pistachio flavouring, a white chocolate topping and a jar of pistachio spread just to make everything even more delicious! It’s HERE. The main picture is the ‘classic’ panettone is citrus fruit and saffron HERE. I promise I’m not exaggerating when I say that they go in a flash, because they really do.

I discovered these lovely pannetones in their gorgeous tins a few years ago, and like you I’ve gifted them to various people each year since. Always the rectangular ones, which are gorgeous inside, with the cake, and the spread, and a wee gold spreading knife. I’ve also bought one for myself! A bit indulgent I know but in my own defense, it was absolutely delicious and I’m still using and enjoying the tin about 4 years later. They are a bit expensive, and indulgent, aren’t they? But they are joyful, and edible, and useful! So I actually think that they are worth it for a special treat.

I think the fact that you can re-use the tin is such a draw and they are the very best panettones I’ve ever tasted!
