[unpaid/sample/affiliate] While most of our family birthdays cluster around the winter months, there are a few dotted about over June and July (including my dad’s 90th!). I spotted these beautiful, summerful and frilled plates from Caroline Gardner and thought I could tick off every friend summer birthday in one fell swoop.
All you need to add is cake (a single, elegant candle is optional). I opted for a box of M&S Fondant Fancies (pink ones are best and I won’t hear it any different) to accompany the lemon plate but you could add anything you like.
There are several designs to choose from – I chose the lemon because it gave me such strong summer, Mediterranean vibes and the delight of bringing it out with olives and toasted almonds into the garden to accompany a glass of rose seemed to good to pass. Buy four and serve prawns with a big chunk of lemon or a side of lemon dressed salad. The plates are £18 each HERE.
