Fresh is another brand I’m having a bit more a re-introduction to – it’s impossible to keep up with all brands all of the time, but this one used to be on my radar so much because everything they did was so good. I popped along to the new Monmouth Street Fresh store yesterday and took Honey with me because we both needed to get out of the house to stop us going stir-crazy amongst all the makeup! I’m pleased to say she was as good as gold – this hasn’t always been the case; I still have the shivery horrors from when I took her as a puppy to a Darphin launch (with permission) and they had mattresses all over the floor covered in white paper sheets for massage. To say she shredded that room in under 10 seconds is an understatement!
Anyway, although I’m totally welded to my Lanolips Balm, I remember when Fresh Sugar Lip Balm first appeared and it was in every magazine as the must have balm. It has a sugar mint scent and tastes sweet too, but doesn’t have that artificial flavouring thing going on that can linger. It’s mainly wild mango butter that helps to soften dry lips, but an added kick is hyaluronic spheres that can do a bit of plumping. I notice that there is an ingredient to smooth fine lines around the mouth but I’d suggest that if you’re going that far with your balm, you’ve gone too far! That said, Fresh Sugar Lip Balm is a very good overnight lip mask, especially if you’ve done a lip exfoliation beforehand.
Fresh Sugar Lip BalmIt is a pricy product at £24 but it does go above and beyond a normal balm, I feel. Anyway, if you’re feeling spendy and your lips are dry, it’s HERE.
