et al. Radiant Foundation Review

[unpaid/sample] et al is a fairly recent brand – founded by the team at the IIAA (International Institute of Active Ageing – which used to be the International Institute for Anti Ageing but they saw the light) – but they have history with make up in the form of Jane Iredale Cosmetics (not sure this still exists) so they know what they’re doing.

et al Radiant Foundation Review

The Radiant Foundation is the latest in et al’s line up (which includes mineral powder foundation, which isn’t something you see much of any more) and aims to give your complexion a bit more light bounce. I like it but the coverage is quite full – I associate ‘radiance’ with lightness of texture I think, so I’m surprised that it’s so creamy. It actually feels like a tweak on the Cream Foundation formula but I think a true radiance base needs a bit more than that.

et al Radiant Foundation Review

Because it’s quite highly pigmented, it needs plenty of blending in to get the seamless finish but once you’ve done it your effort is rewarded by a very perfected, light-bouncy and smooth looking complexion. There are plenty of skin care actives in the mix so it feels comfortable and hydrating. In the picture above the shades are (bottom) C90 (my shade) and C70. I feel all the shades shift a tiny bit yellow which actually becomes less obvious the more you blend it.

As you can see, the light is there! My advice with this base is to try mixing it with your favourite day moisturiser – maybe half and half to take the coverage level down a notch unless you like a fuller foundation. When you apply, just add a tiny dot of product to your brush – half of what you think you might need because you can always build up but you can never build down. et al Radiant Foundation feels a bit more than a day to day base – I’ll probably save mine for glam times. It’s £45 HERE.
