I don’t even need to turn a page of this book to know it will be fabulous. It’s written by beauty journalist, Alice Hart-Davis and her teenage daughter, Beth. Far from being just a book about how to get your lipgloss right, there are instead one hundred ways for a teenage girl to look and feel fabulous – and each one is teen-tested by Beth. From healthy eating, great posture and looking after your teeth all the way through to applying foundation and eyeliner – all the intricacies of looking and feeling good are covered.

Alice is one of those people (who I have the pleasure to know in real life) that genuinely makes everyone around her feel great, so the fact that she focusses on teen self esteem as an important part of the book is key. Being a teen can be pretty awful; if it isn’t exams, boys or hormones, then it’s the pressure of feeling you have to look like a celebrity and it can all add up to a few years of misery. I think Alice and Beth’s book will go some long way to mentoring teens though the minefields. If you have a teenage daughter, cousin or sister, don’t hesitate to snap up 100 Ways For Every Girl To Look And Feel Fantastic when it launches on September 6th for £9.99.
