Elizabeth Arden Pro Triple Action Protector

Triple Action Protector

The term ‘game-changer’ is coming up a lot in beauty right now – some are, some aren’t. But, this is.

I’m going to have to cut out some of the science in this because a) I don’t fully understand it and b) it would probably be the world’s most dull post.

However, if I tell you that the results of the Elizabeth Arden PRO range have been published in peer reviewed medical  journals, it gives you an idea of how heavyweight this one is. And skin geeks will be thanking their lucky stars for it – especially if you’re fanatical about sun protection.

The hero product of the range is Triple Action Protector (above) which is proven to extend way beyond SPF50 protection. It does this by providing three lines of defence: SPF50 to soak up UVB & UVA rays, antioxidants to protect against free radical damage and DNA Enzyme Complex that increases the number of repair enzymes that run up and down the DNA strand to support the skins own natural repair system. Now I have mental image of enzymes on the run…like mice.. eek.

But, this combination creates the most effective topical skin protection to date (actually it’s around three times the effectiveness of an SPF50). Plus it doesn’t even feel like a sunscreen with a serum texture and universal tint. £59 HERE.

The Elizabeth Arden Pro Triple Action Protector is part of the new Elizabeth Arden Pro range – it’s going to be an interesting one to watch, because I’m guessing that it’s not just skin care professionals that will want to get their hands on it. Because it’s a pro brand, it’s going into spas and skin clinics so you’ll have to call to find out where your nearest stockist is.

I think it won’t be too long before consumer brands are trying to emulate this formula.

Hello, do you have links / references to the published studies, please?
    Thank you, Sam.

Hi Sam, it’s not online but it was published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology in March 2014 issue. Its called An Experimental Double Blind Irradiation Study of a Novel Topical Product (TPF50) Compared to Other Topical Products with DNA Repair Enzymes, Antioxidant and Growth Factors with Sunscreens: Implications for Preventing Skin Aging and cancer.

P.s. So much prefer a ‘real’, independent scientific study to be quoted, than those ‘clinical trials’ that brands seem to favour at the moment.

Too many variables and no transparency make me highly sceptical of those (marketing) claims!!

I agree.. I am the first sceptic on this type of thing.. but it’s really hard to make a claim this big with nothing to back it up.

  2. Really looking forward to giving this a go as I have such tricky skin that struggles with most SPF formulas, so fingers crossed this will be my very own game-changer!
