Traditionally, this is the time of year when new bases launch – Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude is easily one of the best new foundation launches. Like most foundations now, it’s got some power packed ingredients; soy lipids, wild mushroom extract and Vitamins A, C and E. The soy lipids are said to reduce the appearance of pores over time – I have never known that not to be a good thing!
So, in texture, it’s light; gorgeous in fact, and although it’s oil-free, doesn’t have the ‘drag’ that some oil-free formulas do. It’s ticking the box on luminosity as well, and also a big tick for evening out skin tone, while still allowing skin to look natural. I’ve swatched at strength in the picture above otherwise nothing shows up, and they’re using a wandy-thing (I am sure there is a technical term for that) which I think is old-school-in-a-good-way – you never need to get your fingers near the actual bottle rim. Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude Foundation has gone straight into my keep drawer – Elizabeth Arden is one of the few brands that make me feel properly glamorous when I use it.
It’s £28 which I think is more than reasonable for this quality and it’s on an exclusive at the moment with Debenhams HERE but going nationwide in next few weeks. NB!! Total blogger fail – instead of pulling the lid, it appears I twisted… and got the entire bottom end of the pump tube – it is a normal pump! Seriously, you wouldn’t think I’d had any experience whatsoever with foundation. However, I do remember ‘wandy’ foundation applicators and rather liked them – does anyone still do them? Thanks to the kind reader who pointed out the foundation faux pas.
