Elemis Pro-Collagen Black Cherry Cleansing Balm Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm is one of the first cleansing balms I really fell in love with. I will, nine times out of ten, pick a balm to take off my make up and the general detritus of the day over anything else. The exception is a lazy TV cleanse with a micellar water when the will to do it properly just isn’t there.

This Black Cherry version isn’t Elemis’s first rodeo when it comes to changing things up – rose and green fig have made an appearance and in fact, are still available HERE. Cherries are definitely a ‘thing’ this year – this isn’t the last variant you’ll see – but most formulations pair cherry with almond as standard and with the best will in the world, smelling like a Bakewell tart isn’t on my cleansing agenda. This version is a crisper cherry – it’s sweet, like a cherry drop, but not cloying or too foodie, and I find it delightful.

If you’ve never used Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm, it’s rich and unctuous and melts onto the skin like a dream. Omega rich cleansers tend to feel like they’re meant to be on your skin – there’s an immediate compatibility that’s both sensorial and reassuring. You don’t need a lot to work over your face and remove all your make up, SPF and previous skin care but it’s helpful to give it a moment or two of massage to make sure the formula has the best chance of taking everything away. Massage is very good for the skin in general – gets the blood flowing – so if you can make a habit of working it around, all to the good.

If you don’t like a scented balm, don’t worry – there is a Naked Balm (£49 HERE) with no fragrance at all. Personally, I love this fruity twist on a modern classic in skin care – you’ll find elderberry, starflower oil, Padina Pavonica (algae – don’t know why it’s there) and Optimega™  which is a blend of oat and wheatgerm oils. The best thing is how your skin feels after using Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm – soft, moisturised and ultra-clean. Black Cherry is HERE for £49.
