e.l.f. Soft Glam Satin Foundation Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] It doesn’t instinctively feel like the right time to buy foundation – I’m much more into skin tints and tinted moisturiser at the moment – but this is a good one and worth your time and attention away from under the parasol.

I really don’t have any hesitation whatsoever in saying grab a tube of this as soon as you can! It’s £8 and is feeling, looking and behaving like an £80 foundation. This is what I love about high street cosmetics – their game is so strong now that you really can’t tell many of the products apart from higher priced brands because they’ve worked out that we’ve stopped expecting a less good product just because the price is low. So they’ve upped the stakes by giving us exactly what we want – quality products without breaking the bank. e.l.f. is leading by example with e.l.f. Soft Glam Satin Foundation.

Where you might have to put in a bit of extra leg work is in the colour matching – there are 34 shades going from palest to deepest and a good selection of neutral undertones which, as a ‘warm neutral’ I appreciate. I chose 25 Light Neutral, but as a back up because I wasn’t certain, I also picked 21 Light Neutral (easy for me because I just ask the PR, different if you’re actually buying). However, I know I can wear the lighter one in cooler months so nothing is wasted but for now, it’s 25. 21 is the bottom swatch, 25 is the top.

Oh my poor hayfever-y eyes! Sorry I look so glazed over :-). The e.l.f. Soft Glam Satin Foundation is weightless on the skin and gives really beautiful coverage over moisturised skin or SPF (I’m wearing SPF underneath) – it’s neither too glowy, nor too matte and gives a light/medium coverage. You can build it (I won’t) if you need a bit more coverage but actually, I feel quite impressed at the pigment level with just one layer.  £8 well spent, HERE.

Elf glam foundation is the bomb

I’ve used Chanel, Estee Lauder Futurist, Clinique, Lancome, and I promise you – elf soft glam foundation is a real find. Not only is the price a fraction of the others but the coverage and feel on your skin is amazing. Matching is tricky, so I ordered 31 and 25. For now I can mix since I’ve not been in the sun a lot, then can wear 31 when more tan and 25 in the cooler months when my skin lighter. The finish is beautiful! Just smooth, not shiney, not matte – just a lovely satin. I love this stuff! Start with e.l.f poreless putty primer followed by soft glam foundation, add a little Rose You Slay gel blush and top it off with High Def Loose setting powder and a perfect look.

Perfect! I think it’s such a great base.
