Lovely Doubly: Estee Lauder DoubleWear Lipstick

I am terrified of red lipstick, unlike my fellow blogger, BeautyWooMe, whose lifetime quest is to find the perfect red. Last time I ventured out wearing the boldest Clinique red, although I know it suited me, it was just too attention grabbing for me and I spent the entire day holding my hand over my mouth and worrying whether it had transfered to my teeth or I’d inadvertently smeared it across my cheek, a la drunk-lady. In fact, I am far more in love with gloss and tend to stick with neutrals (boring?), but I feel myself tempted again for a tube of grown up lipstick now that I’ve seen Estee Lauder’s new Double Wear Stay-In-Place Lipsticks, £16, on counters at the end of June (and yes, there’s a wow red – Stay Scarlet). The packaging is gorgeous; really tactile and sleek in navy and gold cartouches. They’re fade resistant, long wearing and smudge/feather proof, and come in 12 shades…hmm maybe I will have another go at red…(although probably not!).

    I personally don’t like the half-blue half-gold :-/. But maybe that’s just me ;).

I experienced the same red lipstick scenario as you described…as i usually stick to neutrals as well. Red is such a statement on the lips, but I couldn’t resist one evening, feeing a bit self conscious, until I received several compliments of how it suited me. This new Estee Lauder Double Wear sounds like just the perfect solution for red lipstick virgins. The packaging is so chic and gorgeous. Love the word cartouche.
