At first look, I had these Dolce & Gabbana Shine Lipsticks down as unwearable. But, on swatching, they’re anything but – in fact, they’re pretty amazing. I know that grey gloss has existed before, but I can’t remember a grey lipstick so I tried this on with huge trepidation!

The grey is called Moon and it gives a metallic gleam with silver tones to the lip – let me tell you, your lips need to be in perfect condition to carry this one! But once on, it does that vampy thing – if I wasn’t such a lipstick coward, I’d put this over a strong, deep wine shade and really go for it a la Grace Jones. The white shade is Crystal, and puts a gleaming, milky slick on your lips – it doesn’t completely white them out, but on its own it would be a very specific look. Shimmer Nude is the most versatile I think – put this over any colour lipstick to give it vibrancy, high sheen and glamour – I’d even suggest you can pop a tiny amount onto cheek bones to give definition and a sheen. Finally, Angel Rose is the pink shade and it’s an easy wear – twinkly, pretty with plenty of glisten.

So, the Dolce & Gabbana Shine Lipsticks aren’t as hard to wear as they look. If you’re feeling spendy, they’re a lovely addition as lipstick toppers to transform your day lip to evening glam. As you can see, each lipstick has a gem stone effect on the top – Dolce & Gabbana are all about the rocks and there’s nothing understated about these.

At £28 they’re definitely a luxury buy but they really do feel super glamorous and I love that they’re useful and adaptable, too. You can find them HERE. I should mention that there’s also a new palette for holiday look – nowhere near as exciting as the lips.

At £39, I’d take the lippies any day.
