I love the bottle shapes of these polishes – they’re just so pretty – ornamental even. In my other life, where I have a completely beautiful and tidy bedroom with a white French style dressing table (just to the right of the dressing room) on my dove grey carpet (with corresponding bed linen – 600 thread count) the nail polish collection for Dior Christmas Beauty 2014 would look right about perfect atop.
The star of the show is the Golden Shock Top Coat – chunks of soft golden glitter to replicate a gold leaf effect. Shades from left to right are: Golden Shock, Smoky (beautiful aubergine), Shock (a smack of red), Gold Equinoxe (light gold) and Mirror (subltle gold irridescence).
Don’t laugh, but I was literally clapping my hands with excitement when I opened the Diorific lipsticks. Matte on one side, and a golden-shot, metallic twin shade on the other. Technically, this is a feat, never mind that you get two lipsticks in one. There are six shades – I have four to show you.
First up in the swatch is Daring Shock, gold infused side first. Next is Ardent Shock, golden side first (and my favourite).
Next is Mysterious Shock, the darkest of the lipsticks, golden side first, followed by Enchanting Shock, golden side first. The presentation is literally seamless – I’m obsessed with these. They smell like properly grown-up lipsticks, too with a sweet, powdery scent that doesn’t translate to taste.
Finally, for Dior Christmas Beauty 2014 are two Dior Addict Glosses – one a golden shimmered rose and the other a wash of gold shot shimmer.
And… they’re super-super-super twinkly! I’m running out of words to describe these – liquid stars, maybe – and I’ll leave it there! The Dior Christmas Beauty 2014 Golden Shock collection launches on 29th October.
