Dear Anonymous

I get an increasing number of ‘Anonymous’ comments that are so obviously from the companies I’ve mentioned, so I thought maybe you’d like to see a couple if only so you know what a transparently fake comment looks like:

“Le Metier de Beaute has arrived to the UK! Just last week it opened at Liberty’s! I went in the staff they have are super knowledgeable and they are offering complimentary makeups to introduce the brand! Did you know Kate Hudson is a big fan of Le Metier de Beaute. Their Blonzer is the most amazing bronzer I have ever used along with their super easy to use liquid eyeliner. Check out a lipgloss called Dubai it’e the most perfect pink just so girly!”

And another…

“Le Metier de Beaute has arrived in the UK! It’s exclusive to Liberty’s London! They have just opened last week and are offering complimentary makeup applications to introduce everyone to the brand. Liberty’s contact number is 0207 734123 ext. 2190. I went over the weekend my and had my makeup done. I looked amazing and bought everything that was used, it’s the first time I have been able to re-create smokey eyes and flawless skin. The products are simply amazing and the staff were so friendly and knew exactly what look I was after. I advise everyone to give them a call before the offer is off!”

So, guess whose make up I won’t be reviewing again any time soon.

Haha, that’s amazing. They’re not great at sounding natural, are they?

My friend who works in PR has to post embarrassing comments on Facebook groups for terrible artists like Shayne Ward using her own Facebook account. What a job.

haha those comments were not at all obvious were they…

oh dear, they could at least try and be a bit more subtle!

  4. yup, happens to us all the time as well – we delete them as we only want genuine opinions, positive or negative. Plus, it’s always so completely obvious too!

Ahhh your tweet makes sense now.

No ‘normal’ poster writes like that. Companies never learn do they?!

  6. Oh my, that’s really quite surprising, isn’t it? They’d be much better off being totally transparent and identifying themselves from the company. I delete those kind of comments as spam. xx

The brand in my opinion is over priced and it doesn’t seem like they are doing very well in Liberty’s. Certain products are great however I have be in on a few occasions and no one has been on their counter and the other two occassions I have been served by girls barely wearring makeup. Not an exciting experience
