Hmm, well this battered pot doesn’t look all that promising at first glance, but it’s the stuff of beauty legend, coming from make up artist, Charlotte Tilbury.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic CreamI put this on pretty much as soon as I got it because I’ve heard so much about the ‘secret’ cream, and while my first impression was that it’s a bit like Nivea, it didn’t take long to realise that it really is quite special. So, it has the consistency of a cold cream (like Nivea) and a similar smell, but includes a BioNymph Peptide Complex, SPF, a hyaluronic acid booster and an infusion of rose hip, camellia and Vitamin E oils.
So, what does it do? Well, the claim is ‘re-plumping’ amongst other things and I’d say that’s quite hard to tell having only used it in the very short term. What I can say it does immediately is give my skin a very, very potent wash of moisture and left it feeling ridiculously soft. I’d also say that it feels a little as though there is a slight (but comfortable) barrier there after application; it certainly didn’t interfere with my make up at all (in fact, it went on like a dream). I can see why Charlotte’s celeb clients get hooked on it. It’s not even for sale presently – Charlotte has been bespoke mixing skin-care for years, but watch this space for news on her new make- up line (with some skin care and hopefully Magic Cream) launching in August (I will guess into Selfridges!) so I’m using it sparingly – who knows when I might ever see another?
