[productsample/affiliates] The very first time I went to the USA I was completely riveted by the female newsreaders and their lipsticks. I just couldn’t figure out what colours they were wearing that gave that kind of gorgeously hyper-natural, pinky-beige looking lip because, believe it or not, the UK was well behind on the whole tone on tone nude lip concept. It was a long time ago, granted, but Charlotte Tilbury has nailed that wonder with her new ‘Supers’ – Super Sexy (above), Super Model and Super Nineties. The only difference is finish – Charlotte’s are matte whereas I definitely remember the originals as sheeny.
I like the squared off tips of Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks – they give a really sharp delivery (and very neat swatches!).
In the swatch above from bottom to top, it’s Super Model, Super Sexy and Super Nineties. My best shade is Super Model in a slightly coffee’d neutral and given that I’m not a matte fan at all, I don’t mind the silky feeling texture – there is definitely a decent level of lip comfort and moisture. If you want to revisit the nineties (not sure I do), you can add a darker tone lip liner. I’ve been using lip liner recently – a shade really close to my natural colour, giving it a bit of a smudge up and then just adding lip balm over the top. It’s a nice way to get definition without looking made up. If you like the new shades, you can buy (on-line exclusive) the matching liners and lipsticks as a set for £38 HERE, Non Affiliate HERE, otherwise, the lippies are £24 each (same link).
