CHANEL Water Fresh Tint Review : An Oldie But A Very, Very Goodie

[unpaid/purchase/affiliate/ad] Rarely have I loved a summer base more than the CHANEL Water Fresh Tint. It replaced my go-to bareMinerals Complexion Rescue (which I still wear on and off as a fail-safe in cooler weather) and I’ve featured it many times. So this is just a reminder, because it sells out every single year without fail, to make sure you get yours in good time. I’ve been the person stalking duty free trying to get hold of my shade (Light Medium, then Medium later in the summer) because it’s my last hope and in fact, did that very thing on my way to Prague trying to get a travel size only to discover that they were limited edition.

So, I need to justify this £55 spend when it’s a top recommendation to others, but I’ve yet to find anything that compares to CHANEL Water Fresh Tint in lightness and ability to give a smooth and even complexion with so little product.

The clue is in the name – there are particles of pigment suspended in a water serum so there’s a cooling effect as the water evaporates away. Once it has done, and the spheres have burst under the pressure of your foundation brush, you’re left with a feather light but improving veil.

It’s a natural skin look – a ‘you but better’ nuance but the effect is definitely there. There’s also a Water Fresh Blush but I haven’t bonded with it to quite the same level as the Tint. Above is NO Tint.

Above is WITH Tint. I like it over SPF – I don’t like a lot of product on my face in summer because I get a skin sweat feel that I can’t stand but with a light feel SPF topped (after 20 mins or so) with CHANEL Water Fresh Tint I feel distinctly not sweaty and pretty much ready for the sunshine. You can find CHANEL Water Fresh Tint HERE. The main picture is WITH Tint.

That looks beautiful on you Jane, it’s the perfect ‘your skin but better’ finish! Can I ask what SPF you like wearing under? SPF+base is such an unpredictable combination and like you I hate the claggy, sticky sensation of ‘stuff’ on ma face, especially in the summer.

I hear you – it was either Beauty of Joseon or Thank You Farmer – I can’t remember which one.
