[unpaid/sample] A further adventure with the Mix Match look that CHANEL is advocating for Spring/Summer 2025, brings a second look to show you featuring the Neutral Twin Set pair, Latte Frappe Ombre Essentielle and Brun Pourpre Stylo Yeux Waterproof. However, my heart is completely stolen by the second Rouge Coco Baume I was sent and would wear with this eye look – Cherry Burst. I have not stopped wearing it.
On first sight, Latte Frappe looks like a hard to wear colour (it’s not helped that I’m finding it hard to get exactly the right tone to show up on camera) – it’s a gingery taupe that anyone with blue eyes will know gives an instant brightening factor but for those of us without blue eyes, it looks brickish and unexciting.
The swatch is giving a much better representation of the colour. CHANEL describes this colour as a warm, matte beige. The waterproof eyeliner in Brun Pourpre has a plum element to it but you’d need to be dissecting your colours quite hard to pick it out and certainly, on the eye, it’s mid-brown.
Here is Cherry Burst. It’s the most juicy pink toned red that is a rarity in that it can be worn entirely on its own. Wearing literally just a slick of lipstick with no other make up isn’t easy – there are very few colours that are prominent enough and yet gentle enough not to dominate the face but to look completely at home with no beauty companions.
I use a very, very light self-tan and then just Cherry Burst and it looks good! It looks like it’s meant to be there. Cherry Burst gives a very chic look (it’s on my Instagram HERE if you want to look at it ‘in action’) that you can use lightly or layer for more intensity and is effortless in the way that most ‘effortless’ looks are not – it doesn’t need anything other than you! It’s HERE for £36. I used a wash of Latte Frappe on my lower lids and lined with Brun Pourpre. On my inner rims I used a gold kohl.
