Chanel Ombres Matelassées de CHANEL: Chanel Christmas 2013

Chanel

Meet Ombres Matelassées de CHANEL; a velvety winter offering that’s all about the sultry smoky eye. This doesn’t launch for a few months, but definitely worth putting some pennies aside to scoop up when it does. I’ll swatch and flag up when it launches but it’s part of the Christmas 2013 Collection.

*NB Apparently the palette launched in extremely limited distribution a few years ago as an exclusive (only in the Chanel boutiques and Selfridges) and it will now be available nationwide in limited quantities for Christmas worldwide.

I’m excited! Any idea how much it will retail for?

  2. I really, really, really love this – I’m on the list at the Covent Garden pop-up shop – hopefully I’ll get the heads up when it’s in (they usually get things first)…

Hymm, actually I have it since spring 2012! Is is re-release? It is even featured on Chanel US website and internet search shows few more shades.

I don’t think they’re the same. The colors looks very different (lighter ones in the 2012 one, darker/smokier in the 2013 one).

  4. The palette looks very, very beautiful, but I am sceptical. I also have the first Ombres Matelassées palette, and – although most beautiful as well – it unfortunately is of no better than lower average quality, to my mind. Definitely worse than Chanel eyeshadows normally are, and worse than the Perlées palette for example either, to mention a similar product. Which is such a pity!!! I do hope they improved the formulation for this new Matelassées generation. Maybe I’ll give it a try again, but I’m not sure yet.

  5. Wow, wow, wow. I NEED this! 🙂
