Chanel Le Jour, La Nuit, Le Weekend Coffret

Chanel Resynchronizing Skin Care
Chanel Resynchronizing Skin Care

I’ve been putting this to the test over the last three weeks or so. The premise of the trio is to reset dull, or to use a very un-Chanel word, knackered skin. It’s pretty simple in terms of use. You use Le Jour de Chanel in the day, La Nuit de Chanel at night and Le Weekend de Chanel at the, er, weekend. I’ll warn you straight away that it is hugely expensive.

But, oh my, does it work! I suspect its efficacy is down to such generous portions of hyaluronic acid more than any of the ‘sciencey’ stuff, but nonetheless, my skin has practically been singing with the joy of it. Bottom line, it’s hyaluronic in the morning, even more hyaluronic in the evening and then a splash of glycolic at the weekend. No wonder I’m glowy.

The set is (gulp) £172 or the products can be bought individually (day and night £60, weekend £72) but I’ve no way to know whether buying only one would have the same effect as buying all three. It does work, it has made my skin soft and glowing, of that there is no doubt. It’s a high recommend from me even at the price and if you are feeling spendy, it’s HERE.

  1. How’s the concentration of glycolic acid? My skin isn’t super sensitive but above certain concentrations, my skin becomes inflamed.

not sure of the % but it is combined with rose water for calming and soothing.. it certainly doesn’t feel radical.

I tried the weekend one & had a reaction. My skin became super red. I do have sensitive skin though. Your mileage may vary but just wanted to throw that out there. (And I love Chanel)

    3. Hi Esme. I saw your comment. I have a sensitive skin and even normal tap water sometimes makes it very very red (or maybe free chlorine in it). I had a try of all three treatments but decided to buy only the weekend one cause I have a lot of other stuff to use. The skin may be a little bit tingly for the first 5 minutes but it doesn’t happen every day. But!!! My face has never looked as amazing!! It’s bright, smooth and just beautiful in my opinion. If you have a chance of getting a sample it should tell you if you want it or maybe leave it.

good for combination skin? Or too hydrating?

    1. Jane Cunningham

That’s a tricky one.. my skin is normal to dry and reacted really well but hyaluronic is good for all skins.. just depends on what the other ingredients are. x

  3. OOoo, I have combination to oily skin myself, leaning more to the oily side, I always assumed I should be looking out for a good bha instead of an aha product, what would you advise?

  4. So you use these after cleansing but before applying any other serum/moisturiser etc…? What are you layering over them Jane, if I may ask?

nothing..they go straight on after cleansing as a one-product-does-all kind of thing.. I don’t use anything under or over..just straight as it is. Am loving the simplicity of it. x

      1. Ah I see. The wording implies you use something over it, but I agree with your method. Oooo! Seriously tempted!

          oh sorry..no nothing. x

I guess it depends what you normally use. Does it have any antioxidant treatment in it? Certainly it knocks out the need for hyaluronic serum which I currently use and a moisturiser. Does it have SPF? Also, if someone normally used a bb or cc cream, would they still want that on top? Would love answers to these questions, Jane before investing when existing products run out. Whatever, its an exciting product and sounds worth the money. One more question, what is glycolic and is it suitable for older skin?
You have certainly got everyones interest with this one, Jane! Thank you so much for posting it

Okay, there is no SPF in this.. and yes you could easily put a BB (with SPF) over it for the coverage element more than anything. It isn’t greasy or oily at all so in fact makes quite a nice base for make up. Glycolic is an ingredient that helps with cell renewal so in theory gets rid of sluggish old cells (or makes them turn over more quickly) so that skin looks brighter and less dull, so kind of like an exfoliator within skin care rather than as a physical grain or something. I hope that makes sense. It’s genuinely suiting my skin, but another commenter found it too strong for hers. I would always recommend getting a tester if you can first.. because it is a massive outlay if you get all three.
