Chanel CC Cream

Chanel CC Cream

It’s so rare for me not to like a Chanel beauty product, that it’s more or less unheard of… can you sense the ‘but’ coming?! I just don’t feel that the new, updated formula of Chanel CC Cream is for me. Compared to say, Clinique’s new BB for oilier skin types, the formula feels quite thick and heavy on the skin. The Chanel CC Cream is SPF50, which is all well and good, but I’d opt every time for a more fluid formula that has a slightly less high SPF. I would say it does actually feel more like a sunscreen than a CC.

On the plus, there is a bit of a glow to this – and an infusion of hyaluronic means that skin stays hydrated throughout the day. On the skin care side, peach extracts and marine extracts give anti-oxidant protection. Coverage wise, Chanel CC Cream is light; I don’t notice a huge amount of concealing and although there are new shade selections (up to B40), I know there are better BB and CC creams out there. Chanel CC Cream is £44 when it launches later this month.

That’s a super high spf and price tag to boot. I like a good spf suncream for anti ageing like Ultrasun, underneath a bb/cc/tinted moisturiser. I found Clarins cc cream was fab last summer. I’m a fan of Chanel primer and just love Viatlumiere Aqua, but thanks for the heads up review Jane.

  2. I for sure need to try this out, even though you aren’t the biggest fan 🙂

Can you please tell me if it has chemical sunscreen? The old formula were ok for me as my skin does not tolerate chemical sunscreens (I suffer rosacea).

I loved the original one. I bought it when it launched first in Asia (Japan and Taiwan, if I remember correctly). It appeared in the rest of the world a bit later and I’ve been always wondering if the European version is as good as the Asian one. I’ve just ran out of it and was thinking of repurchase it (it’s funny how nowadays even if something is AMAZING, we still think of buying some new stuff instead, as there are so many choices and new launches). Is it still available, or is it being replaced by the new formula?

Must say I love this CC cream , it is thick but I find it blends well and I only need a small amount to cover my broken veins and even out my skin tone. Main reason I love it is that it looks really natural , my skin looks like skin but better. Pleased that it lasts on me as well.
