Cecred Hair Product Review

[unpaid/sample] It’s taken me nearly forever to get this review up – Cecred is Beyonce’s hair care range and bearing in mind that it is predominantly aimed at textured hair, I wanted my friend Amisha to test it out for me because, obviously, my hair is textured. It took a while to get together but we have, finally, and she(and her daughter who has curly and frizzy hair have given the Clarifying Shampoo & Scalp Scrub, the Hydrating Shampoo and the Moisturizing Deep Conditioner a run through.

So, here is Amisha and her beautiful hair before trying the Cecred products. I’ve included her comments below the pictures of the products, and yes, there is an ‘after’ pic at the end.

“The Clarifying Shampoo & Scalp Scrub, £36, has a refreshing, minty scent. It’s an easy application and our scalps felt very thoroughly cleansed. I was impressed with how it gently dealt with product build up – a little goes a long way, leaving hair feeling very clean and soft, so the bottle will last a good while. I’d say that the Hydrating Shampoo, £29, is another great textured hair product – it’s very moisturising and one application made our hair soft and bouncy.”
Amisha and Manuela were not as impressed with the Moisturising Deep Conditioner, £36. Amisha: “I found that when the product was applied my hair felt very soft on both occasions and I left it in for 15 minutes.  However, after rinsing my hair did not maintain the same level of moisture, and felt drier than before the mask. I tried air drying my hair the next time around and had a better result in terms of softness but it still had some dryness to it.”
This is post wash and air dry – I can see that Amisha’s hair looks fresh and bouncy with even curls and shine. I wish I’d had the Hydrating Hair Oil (£42) to give her because I feel that might have counteracted any dryness she was feeling from the mask. Overall, Amisha is really happy with the range – it’s something she would definitely want to buy. Secred looks to nourish the scalp and achieves a no-silicone INCI by using bioactive keratin from wool protein, Honey as a humectant and Lactobacillus Ferment to support scalp health. The claims are strong – it makes hair twice as resistant to breakage, makes hair smoother, restores shine (evident in Amisha’s picture) and repairs damage from chemical processing. Although not exclusively for textured hair, that’s the area in which this brand is creating (lovely and shiny) waves. You can find everything HERE, including shampoos, conditioners, treatments and stylers.
