Brand Call Out: Centrepoint Christmas Bags

A call out to brands on behalf of the Make A Difference Team is one of my favourite annual posts to write. There is always such a wonderful response and it’s always heart-warming to see the beauty industry really pull together for such a special reason.

If you’re not familiar with the Make A Difference Makeovers, they’re run by beauty industry insiders (beauty journalists and PRs mainly) who work with young homeless women to boost self-esteem and confidence. I think when you’re alone and at your lowest ebb, it’s a rather wonderful thing to know that someone really does care. Homelessness is a huge issue – to be homeless at Christmas is even more poignant. Make A Difference ensures that each young woman has a bag piled high with everything from functional products such as shampoo and body wash to beauty treats – when you don’t even have your own toothbrush, you can imagine how wonderful – and useful – it is to get a bag bursting with everything you need.  The team works throughout the year on events but this is the one time they ask for further help.

So, the practicalities:

If you are a brand and you’d like to donate some products or have over-stock from promotions, these should be in like multiples of between 50 and 250.

Products need to be delivered on 9th/10th December.

Email me Britishbeautyblogger@gmail.com using ‘Centrepoint’ in the header and your email will be forwarded immediately to the team who will follow up.

After this time, the Make A Difference team get together to pack and deliver all the bags to Centrepoint so each young woman has a bag in time for Christmas.

  1. This is a really great initiative. I’ve re-tweeted your tweet. Fingers crossed brands see your post.

  2. That’s really a wonderful, wonderful idea! I do wish we had something like that in my hometown, too. Or in any bigger city here in Germany, but I don’t think that there is anything like this, because I am pretty sure, I would have heard of it, if there was.
