The Body Shop Red Musk

I have to confess that left to my own devices I wouldn’t even think to spritz this in store – it’s all the wrong connotations to me and just the look of it makes me feel it’s going to smell like the 1970s. I guess I’m thinking joss sticks and ethnic skirts with bells on.

However, not a bit of it! The Body Shop Red Musk is actually very sophisticated – it smells like a proper perfume! It’s a warm, skin scent that, with the absence of floral notes merges into your own natural scent. Don’t let the notes of pepper, spiced musk, tobacco and cinnamon put you off – this isn’t a blast of foodie spice but a sensual hit of amplified, musky skin. It’s really very sexy with a unisex element – I’d go so far as to say anyone is going to smell better with this on than not.

I think the packaging is wrong, but the scent is all kinds of right – if you’re in the Body Shop post launch (4th November) give it a spritz – I think Red Musk might surprise you!

I’ve got some Green Apple scented products from The Body Shop to review, too – that’s a whole other story! The Body Shop Red Musk is £20.

  1. I really like the sound of this & while I don’t like the bottle lid, I do love the ombre glass.

  2. Is this a women’s or mens perfume? Or isit unisex. I don’t think it states anywhere x

In the post, I say it has a unisex element.. personally I think it’s more feminine but I haven’t smelled it on a man yet.

Those notes would be unlikely to put me off as my signature fragrance is Shalimar! This sounds like a lovely bargain of an oriental fragrance (which can be difficult to find). Is there going to be a full range with shower gel, body lotion etc?

Not yet but it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a whole lot more to come x

Ooh, that sounds intriguing. I agree with you that the packaging is a bit weird, but I love anything that smells vaguely like patchouli, so I’m going to check it out.

  5. Would like to try it! I am sure it’s sooo gorgeous!
