Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturiser Oil Free SPF15

I’ve been looking for a good replacement for my beloved Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser for a while now: at £33 a pop, it is starting to feel a bit too expensive for daily use, so finding this gem from Bobbi Brown is a godsend. At £27, it too is pricy, but it’s not spilling over the £30 mark so I don’t feel quite as guilty.

In my view, a tinted moisturiser should give a good tint and be a summer option instead of foundation. Many tinted moisturisers I have found do great on moisturising but their colour matching or even depth of colour is not so good. This one from Bobbi is spot on in Medium to Dark Tint for my skin tone. I’ve also found it hard to find a good tinted moisturiser that is oil free – in summer my skin can be a little bit oily. This is absolutely ticking all the boxes it possibly could with SPF, moisture and tint and I would thoroughly recommend it.

  1. so…if money was not an object which TM would you choose? Bobbi or Laura (or another?) And have you tried Estee Lauder Day Wear Plus?

  2. I can’t decide.. probably back to LM, but they are so even in quality I think I wouldn’t mind which.

Laura is miles better in my opinion. Tried BB today at Selfridges and was shocked at how awful the shades were. Tried the lightest shade and it was too white and chalky and the second lightest was very very yellow. Was with a friend who is a professional make up artist and we both said it was not up to scratch. Shame as I do like their foundations.

I’ve tried the Laura Mercier and love that one. How is the coverage on the BB? Does it offer any at all?

  5. Hi Product Doctor: yes, I think the coverage is on a par to LM x

  6. I have the regular (non-oil free) version of the new BB Tinted moisturizer, and I find the Light to Medium Tint is better for my skin tone than the LM Sand TM. I also prefer the texture of the BB. That, and Perricone No Foundation Foundation, although that comes in only one shade.

I prefer BB. Laura Mercier’s TM contains Ethylhexyl Palmitate which caused me to breakout.
