I’m on much happier ground with these Sheer Lip Colors – they’re juicy, want-to-wear-it-now shades that are all things summery and pretty. With the title ‘sheer’ you’d think maybe they aren’t going to deliver on colour, but they do, in a buttery formula that feels quite balmy. These are all new shades of Sheer Lip Color for the Bobbi Brown Surf & Sand Collection.

Shades from left to right: Sunlit Pink (shimmery), Pink Taffy, Summer Nude and Peach Sorbet. My favourite is definitely Summer Nude (wearing it now!).

Next up, the Brightening Blushes. I haven’t seen BB go this bronze before, but appropriately named Bronze (on the left) really is a deep, burnished and pink toned bronze, with a slick of sheen to it (as opposed to out-right glitter). Pink is very pale, so is ideal for no tan skin or very light tones. They’re £19.50 each.

I’ve done a finger swipe at intensity so you can see the predominant tones in each blush palette but obviously if you use a kabuki or blusher brush this would be greatly diluted. These are £34 each. Both palettes have elements of shimmer so you need to like a twinkly effect. However, I still think the most useful and usable parts of the Bobbi Brown Surf & Sand Collection are the Sheer Lip Colors – just sling in your beach bag and double them up as blush if you need to.
