[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ve decided to do a very small round up of beauty gift sets because there are some beauties out there – in fact, there are so many that it’s almost not being able to see the wood for the trees. Actually, that’s how I always feel about beauty this time of year – it’s like beauty spaghetti in my head! I’m also a bit of a sucker for a set because, oh, they wrap so tidily! If it’s already been put in a box for you then a bit of paper and sellotape presents no challenge at all.
It’s ages since I saw anything from French brand, Nuxe, but this is such a great reminder of how lovely it all is. The fragrance they use is an orange blossom led citrus floral with a coconut milk bottom note that gives it a bit of a holiday feel. I find it very smooth and soothing and would happily be layered with it any day of the week. As you can see, the set contains the famous multi-purpose dry oil for face, body or hair (I’d stick with body tbh), a scented shower gel, a small candle and a 15ml fragrance. It’s a grand looking thing with £59 value but already marked down to £25.60 (from £32) HERE which I very much wasn’t expecting. It’s a generous, cocooning set that feels far more luxurious than its price tag.
Personally, I have always found the gift of shampoo a bit strange but was put in my place at dinner with friends where a couple of them said they love fancy hair care as a present. I’m fairly regularly reminded by reader comments that hair is a big interest and I forget that because it’s not a big thing for me. So, having tested the Living Proof Detox shampoo and found it beyond excellent, I feel confident in recommending this silicone free set from Living Proof.
There is a mini set in the same formula for £19 HERE, otherwise, it’s £52 (yikes – I can’t find it reduced anywhere yet) HERE. It’s best for dry or damaged hair – or if your hair reacts to central heating … in fact, you can think of it as winter-proofing because it’s called ‘restore’ for a reason. Very nourishing and smoothing.
I would recommend this collection in a heart-beat – I did some (paid) work with them earlier in the year and I tested the Brightening Serum and cleanser over a period of weeks. The colour makes me think of it as a summer range (and I tested it in summer) but in fact, it’s ideal for winter when skin needs a boost, and a good time to deal with pigmentation if you have any that bothers you.
The set contains the Vita-C Glycolic Brightening Serum, Vita-C Dark Circle Corrector, Vita-C Exfoliating Facial and Vita-C Essential Cleanser – there are smaller sets if you’d rather just dip a toe and it’s less than half price at £16.75 instead of £35 HERE and honestly, I’d immediately get it at that price – because while the larger set has a value of £133 and is £53.60 HERE – and it looks like you can get an extra 10% off – if you don’t want the serum that’s the thing that’s putting the price up. But, I must stress, the serum blew me away and I went through two bottles of it in the end before I had to move on to other brands.
