BBB House Keeping Post: Deep Linking

Right, I am now signed up the Affliate Window programme which means that there will be a few deep links on my blog.

What this means is where you click through to buy from my site, I will get a small percentage of that sale, should you choose to buy it. I want to be completely open about this – it’s an experiment for me and if it isn’t working out, then I’ll drop it, but I do want to try it for a couple of months at least.

So, if you feel you don’t want to click onto a deep link, then click out of BBB and google the product instead and you’ll find the official site and can buy that way.

It’s a little more complicated on BBB because not all links will be deep-links – it all depends upon what retailers use Affliate Windows.. and I generally post about a lot of things that aren’t available yet anyway.

So, as long as you are informed it’s completely your choice to use or not use links from my site – it’s pretty much the main beauty retailers I’ll be deep linking to: John Lewis, House of Fraser, Debenhams etc.

glad your giving it a try – if you need help email me – sadly affiliate companies are run like Fight Club and the first rule of Fight Club is never talk about it – there instructions or lack of are appalling …..

Personally i think this is a great idea. I would be happy for you to get a percentage of a sale, after all I’d be buying it on your recommendation (that I trust) in the first place and what’s the difference between this and say a beauty counter employee earning commission on a product shes sold to you because she’s offered her expect advise? Nothing. Happy days! Love this blog, so so much!

  3. Totally agree with what Leah said above… thank you for being so open about this. I’ve been meaniing to look into affiliates myself but haven’t got around to it it yet.

  4. I would love to know your thoughts on this after the trial period. I have read loads of good and sadly bad things about this so it will be nice to hear an actual blogger’s thoughts on this.

Ged, I am quite sceptical about it.. but let’s see.. I have had a private affiliate with Selfridges for some time now and let’s just say I wouldn’t be leaving the country on the proceeds! But since BBB is now a pro-blog I think I have to experiment with it. x
