B by Superdrug Melting Cleansing Balm Review

[unpaid/sample] There are more reviews of cleansers than any other product on my site – I know because I’ve just scrolled through 14 pages of them to try and find an earlier review of the B by Superdrug Cleansing Balm. I swear I’ve featured it before but nothing is coming up.

I’m finding that cleansing balms, budget or luxury, have really upped their game of late – it’s hard to find a bad one. In fairness, it’s a fairly simple task to formulate a balm that cleanses and keeping it simple is easier still. This one flags shea butter as it’s prime ingredient but it leads with ethylhexyl palmitate for the ‘fatty’ feel. Ethylhexyl Palmitate isn’t – as far as I know – bad for skin and it’s commonly used in cosmetics. Sunflower oil and synthetic wax all come before shea on the INCI. However, there’s no doubt that this will – and does – take your make up off and cleanse your skin in a balm to oil format.

I took a look at the reviews – one rather scathingly said it smells of lard and I did not pick that up at all! In fact, I thought it had a bit of a clean laundry smell. What can I say? At £9.99 I think it’s more expensive than it should be for the ingredient list but at the same time, it did a great job at cleansing. You can find it HERE.
