I’ve got to be completely honest – I’m not sure I’d ever have looked at AromaWorksas a skin care brand if it hadn’t been put in front of me. I know they’re very well known for their home scents, but skin care? Who knew?

I’ve been trialling three products from the AromaWorks Aromatherapy Skin Care range; Nourish Face Serum Oil, Purity Face Cleanser and Nourish Exfoliating Mask.

AromaWorks Skin Care

I’m obsessed with the Nourish Face Serum Oil because of its very light consistency that is just a pleasure to use and the fact that my skin is so much softer and silkier for using it. There just isn’t any doubt. I’ve worn it both day and night and it’s because of the lightness that it’s easily a day oil as well as one for night time. It’s also perfect for adding a drop to your foundation or moisturiser if your skin is feeling and looking dry. There’s an interesting claim on the back of the Nourish Face Serum Oil, and that’s that it ‘rejuvenates’ skin. Well, it certainly gives it bounce, flexibility and smoothness – I’d say it’s more of a re-boot than anything and I’m very glad of it as the weather gets chillier and my skin doesn’t enjoy the transition. If you’re a regular reader of BBB, then you’ll know I already have a favourite skin oil, so let’s just say I’m using Nourish Face Serum Oil in favour of that and currently have no plans to return. That’s how much I like it.

I’ve also enjoyed using the Nourish Exfoliating Mask – I do need to flag up that instructions aren’t completely clear on the box (I’ll explain them in a moment) and when I flagged this up to AromaWorks, they went straight into action and the next batch will have full instructions. (The joy of a brand that actually listens!) The exfoliating action is quite ‘scrubby’ so it isn’t a gentle, nothing much happening slougher, but if your skin is very sensitive I’d go gently with this one. Apply a small amount to damp skin and massage over using circular motions, then leave for two minutes before removing with a warm, damp cloth. The beauty of it is that as a mask it’s nourishing and skin softening – you exfoliate at the end just before wiping away with a damp cloth.

The thing you have to remember about the AromaWorks skin care range is that it’s core is aromatherapy – it’s about experiencing both skin care, olfactory nurturing and making a skin care routine something more. It’s easy to get swayed by science in skin care and forget the absolute pleasure of self-care and AromaWorks is exceptionally good at reminding you how joyful caring for your complexion can be.

My top recommend is the Nourish Face Serum Oil, £45 (HERE), especially with autumn and colder weather on our doorstep.
