Love at first mask this morning! I was sent this teeny weeny pot of Antonia Burrell Mask Supreme Miracle Skin Treatment and used it when I woke up (er, after a cup of tea, obvs) and cutting straight to the chase, it’s fabulous.
As you can see, it’s clayish looking (because the cleansing element is Bentonite Clay) but also a little moussy in texture, so it sits on the skin more lightly than a traditional clay mask. It won’t be the first time that a product has been called a facial in a jar, but this is the closest I’ve ever come to that overworked phrase. A little bit detoxifying, very cleansing, AHA exfoliating and beautifully moisturising, it’s just brilliant. There is no word in beauty for a light, skin compatible, filmy, protective feeling that some products leave (if you have any ideas for a word for it, please let me know) but I got that as well as a very hydrated feel and look. The mask uses Oleosome technology and yes, at first I was eye-rolling over this, BUT the proof is in the use and I’m 100% sold on the Antonia Burrell Mask Supreme which launches in September. Oleosomes are micron sized spheres of hydrating plant oils combined with vitamin E and surrounded by a lipid membrane and protein.
It’s £57.
