Whenever I find a skin care product that I really like, the nature of this job is that I have to move on to make space to test and try other products. It’s honestly never happened before that I’ve worked with a brand and then continued to use the product for months after the initial test. But, here we are and here I am still using the And Begin Serum in a Cream which when I started hadn’t had a rename and was still The Revolution. It’s exactly the same cream but with a better title.
I didn’t give it up and move on because I liked it so much – my skin hadn’t been in such a harmonious state for a very long time. I didn’t want for moisture, my complexion felt smooth and soft and I had a truly lovely glow. I kept saying that I’d move on next week or next month and yet that just never happened. And Begin is sister brand to Skin & Me and is aimed at older skin like mine with age appropriate ingredients such as ceramides and peptides. However, because the formula is designed by dermatologists it’s flexible with the addition of actives if you so wish. I’ve had 5% Azelaic Acid from the get-go.
And Begin Serum in a Cream is a lesson in longevity winning – you do need patience to see results and the longer you use it, the more results will reveal themselves to you and your complexion. It was actually a pigmentation patch I have had on my right cheek for years that gave me the proof I was looking for that, aside from the initial results, the And Begin Serum in a Cream was doing far more than I expected it to. I’m fine with having pigmentation – it doesn’t bother me at all – but one day I realized that the little mark had diminished by a significant amount.
My guilty feelings about not testing other skin creams to any significant degree disappeared in a flash! Sod them! I think it’s helpful to tell you what you can expect from And Begin Serum in a Cream. You’ll feel a difference after one week but at 8 weeks your cell turnover is more efficient and rather than just feeling moisturized, your complexion starts to feel and look overall more smooth and soft. After 12 weeks, inroads are being made into your hyperpigmentation and you will see that your skin is brighter.
I’m on (approx.) month six and would say that I noticed the diminishment of my pigmentation mark about six to eight weeks ago (and marvel about it almost daily) so you do need to give it a good time before you go wow! That’s not to say the mark wasn’t diminished before, but I didn’t notice it. I’m in a somewhat unique position of never having used the same product at such length in twenty years or more but now I know that it’s not just about promises – give it time and real results can happen.
(Make up free above and no sign of the mark) The other thing is that I’ve been using And Begin for long enough to know that the derm team does check how you are doing with your recommended cosmeceutical active blend which is sent out every month. I’ve had several emails reminding me to send in pictures so they can see how my skin is getting along and I feel impressed with this consistency and level of service although I have not quite got around to actually sending the pictures!
So, if you’d like to give And Begin Serum in a Cream a try, I have a code for your first month for £4.99; thereafter, as a very special offer for BBB readers it’s £24.99 per month rather than £29.99 BBLOG2 HERE. And Begin hasn’t given this kind of offer before so I’m very glad to be able to offer it. The brand has expanded, now offering an SPF day cream, a balm cleanser, an eye serum and a night booster serum – I certainly feel tempted to try the night serum – but if you like to keep it simple, I can truly recommend Serum in a Cream as a one-stop, better skin shop.
