The Body Shop Superfood Face Masks

What can I say? L’Oreal is on a mission to get us all covered in masks! The latest masks I’ve seen (other than some L’Oreal Paris masks coming up in another post) is the collection from The Body Shop. I’ll say up front that if you choose Rose, Acai or Honey, you will feel like a freshly prepared scone. They’re rather jammy.

In the picture above, starting with the bottom pink looking mask: Amazonian Acai, Chinese Ginseng & Rice, British Rose, Ethiopian Honey and Himalayan Charcoal. I haven’t had a chance to try them yet, so I’ll give you some topline info – they’re not launching until mid August so I will have time to work through them. They’re all based on superfoods and all priced at £15.

Amazonian Acai: For radiance and skin energizing with guarana (full of caffeine), organic babassu oil and acai. Smells: Sharp and fruity.

Chinese Ginseng & Rice: For clarifying and polishing with ginseng, rice and sesame seed oil. Smells: earthy and sweet.

British Rose: For plumping and hydrating with rose petals, rosehip oil and aloe vera. Smells: freshly cut roses.

Ethiopian Honey: For deeply nourishing and replenishing with honey, marula oil and olive oil. Smells: sweet and fresh.

Himalayan Charcoal: For purifying and glow making with bamboo charcoal, green tea leaves and tea tree oil. Smells: Like a cup of tea.

I’m really looking forward to trying all of these – there isn’t one here that I don’t fancy having a go at …. these have all had good results on user trials. I have to point out that the English Rose mask is a dead ringer for Fresh Rose Mask for a fraction of the price… I’ll do a half and half face and see what happens.

I love anything with rose so that one is going straight to the top of my list!

Yessss looking forward to reading in depth reviews on these! Have seen some brief reviews floating around, but if I’m spending £15 on a mask I want it to be well informed on how it performs ☺️

I’d love to see how these compare to the Vichy and Loreal masks why their all owned by Loreal if you would consider a post? I appreciated the comparison of the garnier and Loreal micellar waters that you did. In boots recently I noticed that Vichy and Loreal micellar waters have exactly the same ingredients for quite a significant price difference. X

Really looking forward to seeing how the rose one performs as the Fresh tempted me but my purse said no!

  5. These sound amazing!

I sort of felt that the superfood trend was on it’s way out, but it seems to be here to stay. These sound great.

  7. They look fab, I’m wondering how many applications you would get from each jar and how long they keep for ? (I’m still looking for a Mudd alternative as it gets harder to find)

  8. Wow whoever is doing their product development and branding for this has done a good job because I honestly want to try all five and that never happens! Ethiopian Honey and Himalayan Charcoal both look like standouts to me, and both look like my skin needs them sooner rather than later (but hey, July’s just around the corner so August will be here in no time…). Very interesting and exciting launch.
