I really rate Marc Jacobs nail polish – it seems to have a very decent longevity to it and it’s also densely colour saturated. Very pale shades are the hardest to apply because an even application is absolutely everything so that it doesn’t look streaky. I didn’t think I’d be able to wear these almost plastic looking pales, but I gave the nude pink, Resurrection, a go and really like it.
I used two coats of Chanel’s Base Coat, which has a very slight pinky colour to it and that was enough of a backdrop to keep the MJ shade looking even, but I did need to take it to three coats. I topped it off with Chanel Le Gel Top Coat (which is the best top coat I’ve ever used – it’s HERE) and it has stayed very well up to day 4, today. I haven’t tried the white shade, White Snow, yet – but I feel encouraged enough by Resurrection that I will. A good tip for pastels is to paint a white undercoat in the first place to brighten the base and reduce any streaking.
Marc Jacobs Enamored Nail Lacquer is £15. Harrods, where this brand is an exclusive, don’t seem to have got the new shades on line yet but these launched in June so should be any day now.

Great tip on the white base coat! I haven’t tried the Chanel before…may have to check it out. I’m really impressed with how lovely the MJ looks for such a pale shade. Thanks for your review.
Your nails are gorgeous Jane!
I don’t comment that often but I wanted to say how much I enjoy your blog which I read religiously, and above all I appreciate your honesty, integrity and the fact that you are obviously a very caring person, especially in the frivolous world of beauty blogging.
Thanks very much for your hard work from a big fan in Paris,
Melissa
