Much as I’m fond of the Maybelline brand, the “Lash Like A Boss” tag line that comes with this couldn’t be less appropriate. This is lashing like the intern if we’re going to make the comparison.
Yes, massive tube, yes, biggish brush, but no to colossal lashes. What it does do, very nicely indeed, is define and spike the lashes – remember when ‘volume’ meant a kind of big clump? None of that here – I got a beautifully defined, blackened lash fringe that stayed the course when I wore it out for the evening. I’m obsessed with the forthcoming Dior Pump N Volume which is probably the best mascara I think I’ve ever used in terms of huge, huge, ultra-jet black lashes so that’s my comparison point at the moment, but we’re talking one £25 mascara and one £7.99 mascara.
However, Maybelline prides itself on affordable quality – and this is collagen boosted – so I think I hoped for something more dramatic and just, well, better, from something that wants you to lash like a boss.
