Lipstick Queen Cupid’s Bow

Although the Lipstick Queen Cupid’s Bow collection launched in April, if you haven’t spotted them yet and love a dramatic lip, these are incredible. The pigment! Inspired by star of the silent screen Clara Bow, who was famous for her cupid’s bow and precision lipstick application, these creamy pencils are slender, bucking the trend for anything chubby.

The finish is satin matte, but I find they run to more of a sheen and are a little more softening and flattering than the matte title might suggest. The colour pay off is incredibly intense and precision application is easy. I haven’t tested for longevity yet, although the product glides onto lips with absolutely no drag whatsoever. Personally, I’d keep these in the fridge with summer coming up, particularly if you want to sharpen (they come with individual sharpeners) as they’re quite soft when they’re warm and you lose a little of the precision.

I’ll confess that I had the Cupid’s Bow pencils all neatly in a row that matched the swatch and then in an epic tidy up yesterday, grabbed the bunch and put them out of alignment. But I’m giving it my best shot in matching them from bottom to top: Apollo, Golden Arrow, Daphne, Eros, Nymph, Metamorphoses, Desire and Ovid.
