I’ve got a slightly mixed review for Isadora Bohemian Flair – their Autumn make up offering. I love Isodara nail polish – it doesn’t chip, it’s super shiny and has a thick brush which I find very easy to use. If I come across those wafty thin brushes these days, I can hardly bear to use them…. it takes so much longer to faff about with a skinny brush than do one solid, confident stroke with a thicker one. The nail shades are Choco Chic, a rich, dark brown (and I am yet to decide whether having your nails the same colour as a bar of Cadbury’s is a good thing or not), Purple Paisley, a burgundy tone and Soft Suede, a lush caramel and my favourite colour of the trio.

For lips, the offering is three shades of Lip Desire – a creamy, sculpted nib lipstick. However, two of the three broke when I tried to apply them, and the one that didn’t break gave a very uneven application in swatching. It’s been very hot this weekend, so it could be that they suffered in the heat, and the combination of heat and their creamy, soft formula made for a disaster, but I really don’t think that any lipsticks, no matter how soft, should actually be snapping, even if the weather is hot. If only one had broken I might put it down to just one of those things.. but two. No.

Even in the swatches, you can see there is a problem. I’m so surprised, because I’ve never had anything from Isadora that’s been disappointing, but with all the good will in the world, I can’t recommend these. The Isadora Bohemian Flair collection (including eye palettes which I’ll get to), lip liners and blush launches in September.
