Illamasqua Equinox

Illamasqua Equinox

Illamasqua Equinox is all about light capturing through the winter. Illamasqua call it a ‘desert princess’ look but when I first saw it I thought of evil snow queen! So, it’s darkness with flashes of light and there are elements of the collection that anyone and everyone can tap into.

Broken Gold is the most interesting product, I think – it’s not a gloss although it looks like one, but more an embellishing liquid for eyes (or anywhere else) shot through with golden glitter.

I’ve shown Broken Gold (£18.50) with Beam Nail Varnish (£14.50) and Radiance Veil which isn’t part of the collection but is a perfect partner to it.

The Glamour Lipstick (£19.50) is a shade called Vega – a berry toned red that’s high on pigment. Still to come is the Celestial Palette (£34) which is really the star of the Illamasqua Equinox show and I’ll get it swatched as soon as I get it.

Radiance Veil is definitely worth a look for adding a very seamless bounce of light to cheekbones (I’ve been mixing it with foundation and creme blush for an illuminated complexion look but a little goes a very long way so use with caution). It’s a peach/golden toned illuminator that launches in Selfridges today. I’ll add in a link when they pop it up on-line.  The Equinox Collection launches on 15th October.
