Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint hasn’t launched in the UK yet, so I had this one sent over from the US. I have to admit that I’m a little bit disappointed with it, especially at $55. It’s made without oil, so I think for anyone with oil issues, it’s going to be an absolute godsend, but it’s a little on the dry side in texture for me. Hourglass Illusion gives very good coverage, but there’s little dewyness… and I love a bit of dewy.
However, it’s boosted with Hyaluronic acid so you’ll get all day hydration, and my skin didn’t feel dry; it just looked a bit dry. And that’s the opposite to the effect it’s supposed to have, which is to plump and soften. While it does contain pearl pigments, I think they’ve got lost in the mix somewhere; all in all it’s just not for me which is a shame because I’m $55 lighter!

I really love Hourglass as a brand so I will try it.
I have quite oily skin so would still love to try this – wish I had read this last week when I was in New York as I would have grabbed one!!

It sounds like an interesting concept (an as someone with oily skin, I’m very intrigued), but the idea of spending $55 on a 30ml tube is very unappealing. (Plus it’s full of dimethicone! 🙁 )
Its terrible when we purchase something we end up not loving. My pocket always feels crappy when I do that. I end up passing on the item to one of my sisters, and they love it. LOL

I love Hourglass but do find some of their products a bit hit and miss, which is a shame as it’s quite pricey. I might try to get a sample of this when I’m in the US in a few weeks though as I have an oily t zone which causes me issues with a lot of products. I’d be interested to see if this works for me being oil free 🙂 x
